(link to day's programme here -pdf file)

Monday is Clun Green Man day!

Come and see Clun's very own Green Man battle with the Frost Queen on the bridge to bring Spring to the Clun Valley.

Afterwards browse dozens of craft stalls in the Castle grounds and be entertained by troupes of dancers and singers.

12 Noon: Procession through the town. After the famous "Battle on the Bridge," the Green Man enters Clun Castle accompanied by the May Queen, maypole dancers, morris dancers and entertainers. For a processional map, click here.

The procession is followed by a traditional May Fair in the grounds of Clun Castle (courtesy of English Heritage), with over 40 local craft stalls (list of stalls and more info about the fair here), demonstrating artisans, live music, battle re-enactments, tea tent and beer tent.

Providing entertainment in the Castle grounds will be puppet shows and story telling with Professor Panic, maypole dancers, strolling entertainers, circus acts and workshops and duck racing on the River Clun.

Entry to the May Fair:
Adult: £3.00
Accompanied children: £1.00
Children under 5: free!
